Obtain and fill out an Australian passport application (see Resources). Enter all of the required information, which includes your name, address, contact information and date of birth. Fill out each page of the application and review it before printing it out. You will need to find a guarantor -- which is similar to a notary public -- to sign your passport application.
Provide two passport photos, which must be less than six months old and must meet each of the guidelines in place for Australian passport photos (see Resources). One must contain the signature of your guarantor on the back along with the statement "this is a true photo of..." and your name.
Submit your application, photo identification, proof of citizenship and your passport photos to any Australian Post Office (see Resources). Pay the passport application fee, which is A$208 (as of December 2010). Accepted payment methods differ at each location. Your passport is issued 10 business days after the government receives your application.
