How to Get a Passport Book

  Visit http://www.usps.com/passport to find a post office near you that offers passport services.

  Print out a passport application online. Look for the form that says (Form DS-11) or get one when you go to the post office.

  If you are applying for a passport book for the first time, you will need to submit your passport application in person. If you fill out the passport application in advance, make sure you do not sign it. You must sign the passport application in person when you take it to the post office.

  Before going to the post office to submit your passport application, you will need to take the following things: proof of identity, proof of citizenship and two passport photos.
