- Being born in the Philippines to at least one Filipino parent.
- Having at least one Filipino parent who is a Filipino citizen at the time of the applicant's birth.
- Not having renounced or lost Philippine citizenship.
- Being of good moral character.
- Having sufficient knowledge of Filipino language and culture.
- Passing the Philippine citizenship exam.
If a Chinese citizen born in the Philippines meets all of these requirements, they can apply for a Philippine passport at the nearest Philippine embassy or consulate.
