Request an Albanian passport application. Request in writing an application at the nearest Albanian embassy or consulate. Refer to GoAbroad.com for a list of worldwide Albanian embassies and consulates.
Have five passport photos taken. Albanian passport photos must be 50mm x 40mm, with the individual's face occupying 70 percent of the photo. A white background is preferred.
Complete the Albanian passport application. The application for a child must be submitted by a parent or guardian for the child. Each child must be issued her own Albanian passport, and its issuance is normally valid for five years instead of 10 years, which is the validity period for an adult's passport. A written consent letter from a parent or guardian must be included with a child's application to further validate the passport request.
Enclose copies of the appropriate ID to the passport application. Include a copy of your expired Albanian passport if you have one, or your birth certificate and Albanian ID card. A copy of your birth certificate and passport will be used to prove your Albanian citizenship.
Mail the completed application materials and the application fee back to the embassy or consulate that sent you the application. In May 2009, the application fee was 60 euros. Provide a current address where you can receive mail.
Wait approximately four to six weeks for your new passport to arrive.
