Open your web browser and navigate to the Home Office Identity and Passport Service online passport application page. This option is for UK residents only.
Follow the on-screen instructions and provide the relevant personal information where required. Once complete, the IPS will print out the completed application form and send it to your home address.
Check that all the details are correct upon arrival, and sign the printed application form. Return to the IPS using the sender address. When IPS receives it the processing of the application will begin and you will be charged the relevant replacement fees.
Check the location of the nearest post office branch that offers "passport check & send" service. This service is only available at branches in the UK. Open your web browser and navigate to the "post office branch finder" page. Type in your town or postcode and select "passport check & send" in the "services required" field.
Travel to the post office branch and request a passport application form.
Fill out the form, including all the relevant personal details, and return to the post office branch. Your application form will then be sent to the IPS to begin processing.
Open your web browser and navigate to the DirectGov passport application form request page.
Enter your details where required, and click "OK" to confirm your request. The application form will be sent to your address via second-class post. Expect to receive it in two or three days. You must be a resident of the UK to choose this option.
Fill out the passport application form return to the IPS using the sender address. When it is received by the service, the processing of the application will begin and you will be charged the relevant replacement fees.
