Determine the fee for your application by downloading the passport fee sheet, also on the High Commission's Wellington website.
Find the supporting documents checklist on the High Commission's website to determine items that you will include in your application. Besides the application form, this includes passport photos and your current passport.
Go to a photo processing center and make two identical passport-sized photos to submit with your application. The photos should be on a cream or off-white background. If your current appearance is very different from the photo in your last passport, have the form counter-signed by someone willing to verify your identity.
Make an appointment at an Australia Post outlet to submit your application. The Australia Post website contains a list of outlets that can process your application.
Pay the appropriate passport fee when you turn in your application at an Australia Post location. Processing usually takes three to four weeks.
