How to Register for a Legal Passport

Legal passports are applied for at Passport Acceptance Facilities all over the United States. To apply for a passport you must prove your identity and your U.S. citizenship. Any U.S. resident planning international travel is required to obtain a passport prior to departing the United States or you will not be permitted to leave the country, enter any other countries or return to the U.S. Allow ample time prior to your international travel date to obtain your passport; processing times are up to 10 weeks unless you choose to expedite, which brings the time frame to three weeks.
