What does an Australian Passport look like?

The Australian passport is a travel document issued to Australian citizens, which also serves as proof of identity and nationality. The Australian passport is a burgundy-coloured passport, with the Coat of arms of Australia emblazoned in gold on the front cover. The words "COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA" are inscribed above the coat of arms, while "PASSPORT" is inscribed below.

The passport is divided into three sections:

- The first section contains the passport holder's personal details, such as their name, date of birth, place of birth, and passport number.

- The second section contains information about the passport, such as its issue and expiry dates, and the number of pages it contains.

- The third section contains the passport holder's photograph and signature.

The passport also contains a number of security features, such as watermarks, holograms, and microprinting, to prevent forgery and counterfeiting.
