Navigate to the website of the Italian embassy or nearest consulate. If you are visiting multiple countries, use the application process for the first country you enter or the country in which you'll be spending the most time. Find the consular section and look for information on Schengen visas. Set up an appointment to apply for your visa.
Bring required documentation and payment with you to your appointment. You will need a valid passport, a recent passport-size photo, proof of return-trip booking or other means of personal transportation, proof of booked hotel or other lodging, your last three months' bank statements, letter of reference from your employer, and proof of medical insurance with valid coverage in Italy.
Fill out the Schengen application during your appointment. You must sign the application at the embassy or consulate.
Go to your country's embassy or consulate to obtain the nulla osta upon arrival in Italy. You will need your passport, proof of non-residency, and any other documents the embassy or consulate requires. The nulla osta must be acquired at least three working days before the wedding and takes about a day to obtain.
