Sign into the travel website you are going to use. Know the date you want to travel and the exact destinations you want to travel to and from, including airport location. Plug these into the site and examine the times of travel that are being offered.
Get your credit or debit card ready. If you have a credit card that is connected to travel rewards or flight miles, use that credit card if you'd like. Examine the prices being offered. Cheaper flights or other modes of transportation may be found by changing the date or time of travel. Select your dates and times of travel and continue by purchasing the tickets. Enter your card and contact information and any discount codes you may have, if applicable.
Write down your confirmation booking ID number when the site generates it. When the trip is processed and you have paid, wait for the screen to confirm that your trip is booked. Most sites will list a confirmation booking number. Write this number down. This will help you log into the airline or travel website and make changes to your travel details. This number will also be used at the airport at times when checking in. Keep a copy of the number in your wallet and store the email with the confirmation code.
