How large is the rainforst in Brazil?

Brazil is home to the largest rainforest in the world, the Amazon rainforest. The Amazon rainforest covers an area of approximately 5.5 million square kilometers (2.1 million square miles), which is roughly the size of Western Europe. It is about half as big as Europe.
