How to Reserve Seats With a German Rail Pass

Travelers carrying a German rail pass should make reservations for trips in the summer high season or on heavily traveled routes. Reservations are also required for German rail pass holders who travel on high-speed and night trains. German rail passes are sold in the U.S. through online ticket brokers who can provide seat reservations on request. There is an additional fee for seat reservations which can be purchased in Germany online, in person or over the telephone.
