Find the reservations portal on United Airlines' home page.
Fill in the "From" and "To" fields with the departure and arrival cities you are traveling between. You can either type the entire city name, enter the three letter airport code, or click on "Find Airport" to locate the closest airports.
Click on the appropriate box to indicate whether you are purchasing a one-way or round-trip ticket.
Type in or select from the calendar your departure and arrival dates and times, and select the number of passengers.
Decide how you would like the search results to appear and click on the appropriate box. You can display the available flights by price or by the times most closely matching your selections. There is also a box for you to type in a promotion code if you have one.
Click on "Find Flights" and a list of all available flights will be displayed. If you elected to display the list by lowest price, the cheapest fare will be highlighted for you.
Select the departing and returning flights you prefer. Click the boxes next to those flights and click "Continue."
Use the key pad to enter passenger information such as your name, address and other contact information. Complete the TSA passenger screening box by entering the dates of birth and genders of each passenger. Click on "Select Seats" to advance to the next screen.
Choose the seats on the aircraft that you would like to have. The map displayed indicates which seats are available for you to choose. When you have finished selecting seats, click on "Finished."
Provide your credit card information under "Payment Information." You must also decide whether or not to purchase travel insurance. Simply click on "Yes" or "No" below the insurance description.
Look over the itinerary to make sure the information is correct, then click on "Purchase Itinerary."
