Log in to your Mileage Plus account at United.com to redeem your miles.
Click on the "Use Miles" tab under the MileagePlus header to find a way to use your miles.
Choose your award option. Redeem your miles for flights with United by selecting the "Flight" option and choosing a "Standard Award" or a "Saver Award." While Saver Awards have limited days and flights, you can redeem them for fewer miles. Round-trip flights within the United States start at 25,000 miles. Standard Awards, on the other hand, have fewer black-out dates but require a mileage investment of at least 50,000 miles. You can also select hotel stays, car rentals, shopping, dining or charity donations as methods of using your miles.
Enter cities and dates for location-specific awards like car rentals, hotel stays and flights.
Choose from the options under the award type you've selected. The page will show you different awards and the number of miles needed to redeem them.
Click "Continue" or "Redeem Now" once you have selected your reward.
Review the details of your award and click "Continue" to confirm your reservation or award purchase.
Copy the confirmation code for your records and to prove your award redemption.
