Delta Airlines, one of the major U.S. air carriers, has flights to Asia, Europe, South America and Africa. Their frequent flyer reward program is called SkyMiles, and it has millions of members. The most common way to use SkyMiles credit is to convert frequent flyer miles to free tickets.
Start your web browser, and go to Delta.com. On the left hand side of the web page, there's an opportunity to enter your SkyMiles number and your personal identification number.
Enter the information in the spaces provided, and click the "Log In" button.
Click on the link that says "Use Miles." A menu will appear; one item on the menu will be "Award Ticket Reservations." Click on that link.
Select whether you want to optimize your trip to use the minimum number of SkyMiles, or to get the most convenient flights on the radio buttons at the top of the form.
Enter your departure airport and your destination airport.
Select the departure dates and times, and the return flight dates and times.
Select the number of passengers flying.
Select whether you're flying coach or first-class. You can click a check box to only show Delta flights, which may make it easier to pay for the entire trip with SkyMiles.
Click on the "Go" button, and you'll be prompted to book your flight. The flight will have some or all of its ticket price deducted from your SkyMiles balance, depending on flight availability.
