Pack bedding and similar items together, including plenty of pillows and pillowcases, foam or air-filled mattresses, small tent(s), folding cot, sheets, and blankets and comforters. Bed sheets also double as window shades. If using a tent, don't forget to pack tent stakes and a hammer or hatchet. Keep the tent stakes in a plastic container for easy access.
Pack such clothing items as hoodies and sweatshirts for cold nights, plenty of socks and underwear, durable items like jeans, a few pairs of shoes (including hiking boots and rain boots), and coats and jackets if necessary. Hats, bandannas and rain coats or ponchos are also a good idea.
For cooking purposes, bring a barbecue grill. Camp stoves and grills can also be used for cooking over the campfire. Bring firewood and materials for starting a fire, such as matches or a long-handled lighter, charcoal and fuel for the barbecue or stove. Non-glossy paper such as newspaper is helpful in starting fires. Ensure you have enough cooking utensils, such as stirring spoons, flippers, grabbers, pots, pans, skewers and griddles. Flame-resistant gloves help protect your hands as you work over the fire, as do oven mitts and pot holders. Bring a mixing bowl, bottle/can opener, corkscrew and can and bottle cozies. Pack silverware, including knives and a knife sharpener, flatware, glasses, mugs, a cooler and ice. Napkins, paper towels, plastic containers and sealable bags are also important for eating and storing food.
Medical supplies are an important part of any RV camper trip, so include adhesive bandages, tape and gauze, bandages with safety pins, moist towelettes and an eye wash cup. Keep a first aid kit handy and bring topical medical supplies such as antibiotic cream, hydrogen peroxide and eye drops. Bring basic medicine on board such as aspirin, sinus tablets, antacids and anti-diarrheals, and any necessary prescriptions.
Keep a supply of medical tools with you such as tweezers for extracting splinters and ticks, scissors and a pocket knife. Remember to bring sunscreen and bug repellent as well.
Bring a bag of toiletry items including shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, makeup, deodorant, moisturizer, combs, brushes, cotton swabs, hair ties and hair accessories. Bring razors, shave gel and after-shave. Pack small mirrors to use when applying makeup or fixing your hair, and use a plastic washing bin for washing your face or doing hand laundry. Towels and face cloths are also necessary, as are toilet paper and hand tissues.
Remember laundry detergent, dish soap, dish cloth or sponges, scouring pad and cleaning/sanitizing solution such as white vinegar. Small brooms and dust pans, rags and garbage bags should also make the list.
