Disney Vacation Planning Tips

Whether you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World or Disneyland, there are many different things to take into consideration when planning a Disney vacation. Assuming that you have a budget for your trip prepared, and that you know how long you will be staying, the next step is to plan out your trip.
  1. When To Visit

    • The busiest time of the year for both parks is during the summer months, and total trip prices will usually reflect this. If you can, visit Disney during the off-peak months, such as September-November. If this isn't possible, check into all-inclusive vacation packages, which include flight, lodging, car rental, and in some cases, park admission in the price. These may be more cost-effective in the long run, particularly for larger families if meals are included as well.

    Other Parks

    • If you are planning a trip to Disney World, you will likely want to include time in your vacation to visit Epcot Center, Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Disney MGM Studios. Likewise, if you are visiting Disneyland, you will want to allot time to visit Disney's California Adventure. Knowing how much time you have at each park will help you to decide which rides and attractions you want to make sure to experience.

    Hotels

    • Both Disney World and Disneyland have hotels located within the parks. These hotels provide the convenience of close proximity to rides and attractions and offer many exclusive amenities, such as childcare, meal discounts, and themed rooms in some cases. If staying in one of the parks is not in your budget, there are several hotels and resorts located near the parks as well. Book early to secure your reservation and rates.
