A transit visa is a Chinese nonimmigrant visa. A nonimmigrant visa is issued to persons that wish to enter China and eventually intend on leaving. There is no intention on staying in the country past the date of the visa or eventually become a permanent resident in China.
A China G visa is a transit visa intended for those persons traveling internationally through China.
A transit visa is a visa that is required for persons that are entering China on an international flight that will be staying in China for less than 24 hours waiting for transit to a different country. Transit exiting the country must be by airplane. The visa holder must be out of China within 24 hours of their entry into China.
There are several required documents for those that wish to apply for a China G visa. These documents include a valid national passport, additional passport photos, a completed Q1 visa application form and your destination airline ticket and appropriate visas (if required to enter your destination country).
You must submit the visa application form to the nearest embassy/consulate to your place of residence. The visa application and all of the required documents must be filed when you submit the China G visa application package to the embassy/consulate. You must submit your visa application in person. Mailed in applications will not be accepted.
