The South Carolina Aquarium has a collection of over 6,000 plants and animals. It features two floors of exhibit space. The Mountain Forest exhibit features stream-dwelling fish and river oaters, while the Ocean exhibit is home to the loggerhead sea turtle, sharks and puffer fish. For the younger members of the family, the South Carolina Aquarium has a kid zone which has a play boat and educational games. The aquarium also has a "Touch Tank" where people can touch aquatic animals like stingrays, sea urchins and horseshoe crabs. Daily admission ranges from $10.95 to $17.95.

The Charleston Museum was founded in 1773. It is designed to preserve the history of Charleston as well as the South Carolina low-country. The museum's permanent exhibitions feature early artifacts such as tradeware, slave tags and firearms from the Civil War. It also is home to the Charleston Silver gallery which features an expansive silver collection including the christening cup of George Washington, according to the Charleston Museum website. Magnolia Plantation and Gardens was founded in 1676 and was later opened to the public in 1870. According to the Magnolia Plantation and Gardens website, it is the oldest public garden in the United States. This attraction is rich in history and also features thousands of flowers and plants. Every Sunday morning, the facility offers guided bird walks where visitors can see some of the 254 bird species located on the grounds. Daily admission ranges from $4 to $15.

Theatre 99 is a comedy improvisation theatre. Comedians from across the country come to the theatre to participate in audience-suggested improv comedy. The theatre offers shows every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. According to the Theatre 99 website, the shows typically contain some adult content and are not appropriate for children under 11. Show admission ranges from $5 to $12.50.
