Life Hammer is made in the Netherlands. The tool is similar to one used as an emergency hammer on trains and buses in Europe. The Life Hammer has a mounting bracket that can be used to secure it into the vehicle, out of the way, but available in case of an emergency. A fluorescent, glow-in-the-dark button at the base of the hammer makes it easy to find should it be needed. The top of the hammer has a hardened steel point to shatter auto glass. The Life Hammer also includes a sharp blade to cut through seat belts in the event that seat belts cannot be released.
Resqme is a portable tool designed to break auto glass and help occupants escape a vehicle in case of emergency. It attaches to an ordinary key chain with a small clip. Inside the clip, a sharp blade is available to cut through seat belts, if they cannot be unbuckled. To break vehicle glass, the user will press the black end of the tool against the glass; a spring loaded spike will be activated to break the glass. The tool is only about three inches long and fits in a purse or pocket.
The BodyGard 5-in-1 Emergency Tool combines an auto glass breaking tool with other safety features. The auto glass breaking tool is a spring loaded high-carbon steel pin that will deploy when pressed against a car window. The tool also contains a safety blade to cut through seat belts. In addition, the BodyGard includes an emergency flasher that can be used as a warning signal in case of accidents or flat tires. The BodyGard also includes a high-decibel alarm and a bright flashlight for safety. The device is small and attaches to a key ring.
