Why Cruise Ships Don't Go to Mexico City

Cruise ships cannot reach Mexico City because it is located inland, roughly 250 km (155 miles) from the nearest coast. There is no navigable waterway for large vessels.

Ships instead dock at coastal ports like Cozumel, Cancún, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, and Mazatlán. Passengers can then fly or take ground transport to the capital. Mexico City's main airport is Benito Juárez International (MEX), just 5 km from the city center.
