Jeep Trails Near Northwest Arkansas

Off-roaders looking for excitement in their Jeeps or other 4x4 vehicles will find plenty of action in the Jeep trails of Northwest Arkansas and the surrounding area. The Ozarks, with their mountains, rivers, lakes and treacherous terrain, provide the off-road enthusiasts with rock crawling, mudding and hill climbing, either on free-wheeling weekends or during organized events. Bring your GPS unit when heading to these areas, as many of their trails are marked with longitude and latitude coordinates.
  1. Byrd's Adventure Center

    • Adventurers looking for Jeep trails in Northwest Arkansas will find a paradise of challenging terrain at Byrd's Adventure Center on the Mulberry River in Ozark, Arkansas. Byrd's rock garden and obstacle course are featured during Rocktoberfest, an event sponsored by the area's Rockcrawlers 4X4 Club each year in late October. Byrd's also holds a "Madness in May" event with Jeep and 4x4 drivers competing on mountain climbs, barrel races, mud runs and rock crawling. Because of its proximity to the river and the acreage on which it sits, Byrd's offers more than just 4x4 trails for Jeeps and ATVs. Visitors here can also take part in a wide range of extreme outdoor experiences including zip lines, river rafting, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, motorcycling and even flying from Byrd's airstrip.

Byrd's also leases its 500 acres for outdoor events like camping retreats, concerts, large reunions, weddings and corporate events.

    Extreme 4-Wheelin' in Disney/Langley, Oklahoma

    • The Disney/Langley area of Northeast Oklahoma features three major spillways from the Grand River in what is considered to be a premier hotspot for four-wheeling. The land is owned and operated by the Grand River Dam Authority, and offers a little of everything the most novice and expert of drivers could want, from easy scenic routes to muddy swampy areas to hill climbs with loose gravel. Located directly between Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the state's border with Northwest Arkansas, this area could flood at any moment during rainy seasons. For this reason, drivers should be alert to the fact that the flood alarms could sound at any time, and that they could come upon flooded valleys or other flooded areas at any time.
