ATV Trails Near Austin, Texas

All terrain vehicles (ATVs) are a popular form of transportation and entertainment, especially among the more rugged and outdoors-oriented states, one of which is Texas. ATV trails exist throughout the state. ATV enthusiasts in Austin, the state's capitol, however, live in an area where there are not as many ATV trails as there are in other parts of the state. However, if people are willing to travel a few miles, they will be able to find many fun and exciting trails await ATV enthusiasts.
  1. Austin-Del Valle Motocross Park

    • The only ATV park within Austin is the Austin-Del Valle Motocross Park. This park is located on 200 acres of land, made up mostly of clay, loam and sand. The park is mainly designed for motorcycles, and has several world-class motocross tracks. The park has modern restrooms with showers, and snacks and beverages are available for purchase at the park's entry. Overnight camping is also available with registration.

    Hidden Falls Adventure Park

    • Hidden Falls Adventure Park is about 34 miles away in Marble Falls, Texas. Hidden Falls is designed to accommodate almost any kind of off-road vehicle, from ATVs to full-sized trucks. A total of 200 miles of trails are available to guests. The park is unaffiliated with the state of Texas, and therefore allows riders to enter the park without an OHV sticker. The park does have stringent rules for all users, including a requirement to stay on established trails and a prohibition of all intoxicating substances.

    Buffalo Valley

    • Buffalo Valley is about 58 miles away from Austin in Marion, a little bit outside Seguin, Texas. It is situated on 600 acres of land, with 500 acres covered in pine trees and 100 acres of open space. The park has many miles of trails available, as well as space for camping and concessions on some weekends.

    Tire Trax Ranch

    • Tire Trax Ranch is an off-road park in Rockdale, about 48 miles from Austin. It's a small, family-run park that as of 2010 is open only during the weekends. It welcomes bikes, trucks and ATVs, and features hills, cliffs, rocks, as well as bottom areas for mudding.

    Crooked Creek Cycle Park

    • The next closest park is up the Interstate in Waco, about 88 miles from Austin. It's called the Crooked Creek Cycle Park. The park is open to ATVs, motorcycles and mountain bikes. The park features camping in its parking areas and portable toilets. The park offers 28 miles of trails on over 500 acres of land featuring woods, creeks and fields.
