ATV Trails Near Casper, Wyoming

Casper, Wyoming is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can fish for trout in the historic North Platte, a river that challenged early settlers on their journey west. Visitors can also enjoy camping, hunting, off-road vehicle riding and hiking. ATV riders can access several trails near the city, which is home to just over 51,000 people. Riders also have many roads managed by the Bureau of Land Management within the 32,531 square miles of land the Casper Field Office oversees.
  1. Casper Dirt Riders Motocross & ATV Club

    • Members of the Casper Dirt Riders Motocross & ATV Club have access to a private track just north-east of the Casper Event Center near the Casper Speedway. The club is the closest facility to Casper where riders can operate their ATVs on a dedicated track. Buying a club membership may be worthwhile, especially for residents or visitors staying for an extended period of time. Anyone wishing to use the track is encouraged to contact the club in advance.

    Muddy Mountain Environmental Educational Area

    • ATV riders can enjoy multi-use trails and the general recreation area of the Muddy Mountain Environmental Education Area (EEA) just 20 miles south of Casper. Riding is not permitted in trails located in the 700-acre natural area of the Muddy Mountain Environmental Educational Area (EEA). This trail system serves hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders only. The Corral Loop Road provides motorized access to most of the area's trails.

    Poison Spider ORV Area

    • The 200-acre Poison Spider off-road vehicle area is located 10 miles west of Casper. The area is managed by the Bureau of Land Management and features a challenging trail with rocky and steep sections. In addition to the Poison Spider ORV area, riders can operate their ATVs in designated roads managed by the Bureau of Land Management in the surrounding area.

    Casper Mountain

    • Casper Mountain offers several multi-use trails to explore. ATV riders can explore the scenic landscape of this long mountain that overlooks Casper. The mountain is also popular for hiking, camping and hunting deer and elk. It is also home to the Hogadon Ski Area. Riders should contact the Casper Field Office for trail information and tips as most trails are un-named.
