ATV Trails Near Shawano, WI

Riding ATVs (all-terrain vehicles) is an enjoyable activity for adventurous types of all ages. While "off-roading" is exhilarating in itself, scenic trails add to an enjoyable experience. In Wisconsin, home to rolling hillsides, luxurious mountains and roaming forests, many parks and recreational facilities offer ATV trails to attract thrill-seeking visitors. For those brave riders in Shawano, there are four nearby options.
  1. Spur of the Moment Ranch

    • This resort, nestled in the Nicolet National Forest, won the 2010 Trail Rider Experience of the Year Award from the Wisconsin ATV Association. Situated on 661,000 acres of forest land, its 800 miles of roads and trails wind through small towns and provide views of several lakes and rivers. The trails are open from the first of May through the first of November. With nightly rates from $25 to $30, Spur of the Moment is a convenient place to stay while you ride the trails.

    Everbreeze Resort

    • Located in the town of Mountain, this resort is situated on beautiful Chute Pond, a 700-acre body of water that is home to several species of fish and wildlife. In close proximity to the pond, Everbreeze provides over 100 miles of ATV trails suitable for riders of every experience level. Best of all, these trails are easy to access, as they are located right outside the door of your personal cabin. Everbreeze offers adventurous riders the ability to rent cabins by the week and participate in a variety of outdoor recreational activities.

    Mountain Bear Restaurant and Motel

    • Also located in Mountain is Mountain Bear Restaurant and Motel. Besides being known for the area's best chili, this cozy and family-oriented inn with attached restaurant and bar offers ATV enthusiasts free and convenient on-site access to several miles of picturesque trails. The remodeled motel rooms offer queen-sized beds for guests, and at $50 per night (as of February 2011) make a pit stop for tired off-roaders.

    Embarrass River ATV Park

    • This 504-acre recreational park, located in Tigerton, provides over 20 miles of trails and promises to challenge even the most experienced riders. Some trails feature cross-country terrain and there is also a riverside challenge area for those riders over the age of 18 looking for a more daring course. The park also has its own campground for those riding the trails, with 37 campsites along the banks of the Embarrass River and on-site shower and laundry facilities. The trails are open daily from 8 a.m. until dusk and the fees range from $7 for a weekday pass to$25 for a weekly pass. If you would rather enjoy ATVs from a distance, the Embarrass River ATV Park hosts regular racing events and shows.
