Located in central Utah, Paiute Trail offers hundreds of miles of varied terrain for ATV enthusiasts. Situated in Fishlake National Forest, Paiute Trail is a connection of old roads and trails that offers panoramic views along high ridges and a variety of scenery. The main trail is over 275 miles long and there are over 1,000 miles of marked side trails in addition to over 1,500 miles of side forest trails and roads. Some of the trails fall in Millard County. According to the Millard County website, Paiute ATV Trail was rated one of the 15 best trails in the U.S. by Dirt Wheels Magazine. The main trail takes about 25 riding hours to complete and is better done over a series of three to four days.
The Arapeen OHV Trail System offers riders over 350 miles of trail in a forest setting. Most trails are amateur, but there are also some for novices and experts. Situated at an elevation of 5,000 to 12,000 feet, there are few hazards on the trails and those that do exist are marked. There are no restrictions on ATVs, UTVs, bicycles, hiking and horseback riding. Arapeen OHV Trails are open from early May to early November. A permit is required. Amenities and conveniences such as water, gas, swimming and first aid are available in nearby Orangeville, Utah. Camping is permitted in some areas.
Little Sahara Recreation Area has a small trail system with 124 square miles of sand dunes and 10 miles of trails. Situated in a desert climate at 4,900 to 5,700 feet of elevation, the terrain is predominately amateur with some for novice and expert riders. ATVs and UTVs are permitted in some areas, while bicycles, hikers and horseback riders have no restrictions. Open year round, riders are required to have a permit and can expect to pay an entry fee of about $8 per vehicle per day. Amenities are located about 20 to 30 miles away, while first aid is on-site.
