The Forest Island Trail is a 33-mile trail open to hiking, motorcycling, ATV, and snowmobiling. This is the only trail located directly in Cedar River. The motorcycle trails are open to ORVs(Off-Road Vehicles) less than 50 inches in width, including off-road motorcycles. A DNR license and ORV sticker is required when riding the trail.
The trail has scenic views of the Cedar River. Individuals can access the site either northwest of Cedar River in the Menominee County or south of Escanaba in Delta County. In addition, the trail has a nearby campground with 18 tent sites and four sites for small trailers.
Felch Grade Trade West is an active trail for ATV riders. The trail is positioned on Old Dump Road in Felch, Michigan. It is situated about 60 miles from Cedar River. The trail runs 40 miles and is used for walking, hiking or horseback riding.
The trail is recognized for its wildlife sightings, particularly dear. ORV's of all dimensions, including off-road motorcycles and snowmobiles are authorized to travel between the trail. An ORV sticker is required, unless licensed by the Secretary of State. Trail head parking is ready for use nearby.
The Norway Trail is the third track open for ATV and motorcycle riding. This trail is primarily rocky. It is located about 80 miles outside Cedar River in the Dickinson County. The trail runs 27 miles and is complete with RV hook-up, boat ramp, campgrounds and a convenience store.
The offers all-day fee-based riding amid gasoline and diesel stations at the staging area. Because the elevation runs 950-1050 feet, each vehicle must have a spark-arresting silencer or end cap. A Michigan ORV License is required.
The Baraga Plains Trail is a trail outside the Cedar River, Michigan area. The trail is positioned in Watton, MI approximately 130 miles away in Baraga County. The trail runs 27 miles and suits off-road motorcycles, ATV's and UTVs. Neighboring Big Lake Campground offers camping with small trailers.
The trails provide two-way lanes in a forest climate, so you must watch for oncoming riders. ORVs must be a maximum of 50 inches wide. An ORV sticker is required for each ATV and charges are taxed per rider. Trail head parking contains a booth with route data and a vault bathroom.
