Jeep Trails in Southeast Missouri

Southeastern Missouri is home to the Ozarks. It is elevated into a swatch of mountains and high fields, inspiring tourism and a lot of outdoor activity. There are state parks and designated off-road vehicle parks in southeastern Missouri. You should check these out if your favorite way to enjoy the great outdoors is from behind the steering wheel of a Jeep and a windshield splattered with rich, dark mud.
  1. St. Joe State Park

    • St. Joe State Park in Park Hills in southeastern Missouri, 40 miles south of St. Louis, offers miles of trails for Jeeps and other vehicles riding off-road. It offers more than 2,000 miles set aside solely for "the state's premiere off-road vehicle (ORV) riding area," according to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

The park totals 8,243 acres and offers camping, fishing, hiking and swimming, along with equestrian, backpacking and bike trails. St. Joe's is Missouri's third-largest state park. The park provides two campgrounds designed to accommodate campers transporting ORV and horse trailers.

    Brick's 4X4 Farm

    • The Brick's 4X4 Farm is an off-road park located in Popular Bluff in southeastern Missouri. The park was a former Angus beef cattle farm. The owners sold off the cattle and turned the acreage into a "four-wheel-drive heaven," opening the gates to "all types of off-road vehicles, from four-wheelers to dirt bikes, to dune buggies."

There is flat land for Jeeps and technical rock climbs for experienced rock crawlers.

The farm is open on specific weekends throughout the year and provides primitive camping with sites at $20 for up to eight people.

The farm's landscape features the spring-fed Beaver Dam Creek, steep and rolling hills, and a mud slough "sure to give even the biggest trucks out there a great run for their money." The terrain is perfect for an off-road park, according to the owners. There is also an obstacle course and drag strip. Spectators are welcome.

    Flatnasty Off Road Park

    • The Flatnasty Off Road Park in Jadwin, southeastern Missouri, is located on the western edge of the Mark Twain National Forest. The park offers miles and miles of trails for dirt bikes, all-terrain vehicles and four-wheel drive vehicles. The trails include an off-road race course, hills, gullies and mud. Trails are marked for easy, intermediate and expert skill levels.

Enthusiasts flock to the park during special weekend events throughout the year. The park holds a New Year's Eve hog roast, a Spring Fling and a Halloween ride. The park offers primitive camping or two-bedroom log cabins. There are also several hotels and campgrounds within a reasonable drive.

Helmets are required for motorcycle and ATV riders, and those driving Jeeps and other four-wheel drive vehicles must wear seat belts. The vehicles must also have a roll bar or a hardtop. Flatnasty's White Knuckle trail was named one of BF Goodrich's Outstanding Trails.
