How to Entertain Oneself for Free in London

If you want to visit London on a budget, you can still find lots of things to do. London offers you plenty of culture as it combines the old and the new in a city buzzing with free things to do.

      Walk along the banks of the Thames River and take in all the sights along the river. You can follow the foot bridge all the way down one side of the river and then cross over one of the various bridges in London, including London Bridge, the Millenium Bridge and Tower Bridge, before heading down the footbridge along the other side.

      Walk through the Queen's garden and see the swans swimming in the ponds. Then visit the grounds of Buckingham Palace and photograph the beautiful golden gates that surround the palace. Arrive in time to watch the changing of the guards.

      Browse the shops and booths on Oxford Street or window shop at the famous department store Harrods. Make sure you stop by Princess Diana's Shrine which is inside the store.

      Watch the vendors sell their wares at Covenant Garden, London's large outdoor shopping market. Listen to the vendors shout out their sales as you take in the many scents and sights of the area.

      Visit the many free museums found around London including the Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Museums are open all day and you can spend hours looking around.

      Sit in Piccadilly circus and feed the birds and then walk near the London Eye and check out the largest Ferris wheel in the world. The area is buzzing with artists showing their art and live musicians playing for the crowds.
