    • A guided service that operates for tips only, DC by Foot offers daily tours past the National Mall and all of its well-known monuments. Guides customize tours for younger visitors, including fun facts, humor and games. For more adventurous kids, the Lincoln Assassination tour follows the events and actions that led up to and followed the 1865 death of Abraham Lincoln. Teens may delight in the Ghosts of Georgetown tour, which takes guests to supposedly haunted locations and tells the creepy stories associated with them.     Saturday Morning at the National

    • A free performance series, "Saturday Morning at the National" takes place each week at the National Theatre, located on Pennsylvania Avenue just a few block from the White House. Designed for the whole family, performances range from puppet and magic shows to live concerts and ballet performances.     National Zoo

    • Home to thousands of exotic animals, as well as educational demonstrations and wild animal shows, the National Zoo provides free entertainment for the whole family. As a leader in conservation science, the National Zoo provides weekend workshops and demonstrations on protecting animals and their habitats. Visitors can also explore exhibits, including pandas on the Asia Trail and an exhibit featuring a lion pride. Open 364 days a year, it is one of the largest wild animal exhibits in the nation.
