Hicksville is a hamlet within the Town of Oyster Bay, located near on Long Island's northern shore in Nassau County. Founded in the 1600s (like many other Long Island villages and towns), Hicksville was named after a businessman Valentine Hicks, who is credited with bringing a branch of the regional rail, the Long Island Railroad (or LIRR) to Hicksville, which in turn allowed the small hamlet to be patronized and more conveniently reached by New York City residents and prospective property buyers. With a rich history that dates back to colonial times, today's Hicksville is home to some popular Long Island attractions.

The Hicksville Gregory Museum
- The Hicksville Gregory Museum is a noted educational destination for Hicksville students and those in nearby communities. This museum was born out of the entomological interests of Dr. Gardiner E. Gregory, a local Hicksville school administrator. Today, the museum is home to a vast collection of specimens, with butterflies, moths, fossils, and other earth science wonders, like a range of fluorescent minerals, showcased on display for marveling science students to survey.

Cantiague Park
- Cantiague Park is one of Nassau County's largest parks, developed to accommodate the needs of a growing post-war county population. Today the park offers several athletic facilities, including lighted tennis, basketball and racquetball courts. Additionally, there is a miniature golf course for families, a golf course and driving range, and as well as a playground area.
