Warm & Sunny Places to Live

Warmth and sun are two of the most desirable features you could request for perfect weather. Only a few locations on Earth are fortunate enough to have that meteorological perfection realized. Several factors can account for the quality of a city's weather, including altitude and its proximity to the ocean.
  1. Santa Barbara

    • Santa Barbara is an exceptionally sunny city located in Southern California. It rises up to 640 feet above sea level. It is also enviably placed between 40 miles of coastline and a set of mountains. An annual 300 days of sunlight have helped the town to earn a reputation for beautiful weather. Santa Barbara's average temperature is 64 degrees, rarely going below 56 degrees or above 74. The city receives nary a winter ocean storm that sometimes haunts other California coastal towns.

    Atlixico

    • Atlixico, a small Mexican town with a warm character, reputedly owns the world's best weather. It is situated in the shadow of a perilous volcano named Popocatepetl, a few miles north of Mexico City. The town is elevated 6,000 above sea level and benefits from an average temperature that rarely rises above the mid 80s Fahrenheit. Semitropical gardens and colonial architecture lend Atlixico further color. Tourism is not one of the city's strong suits, but the residents' inviting nature makes up for the lack of activity.

    The Canary Islands

    • Europeans consider the Canary Islands to be their version of the Hawaiian archipelago. Volcanically active, the Canaries reside off the coast of Morocco and are officially apart of Spain. Tenerife and Gran Canaria are the two most populated individuals islands. The temperature falls between 64 and 77 degrees; precipitation is seldom. Heat in the summer is cooled by trade winds from the ocean, and the water is swimmable year round. This utopian climate naturally attracts scores of tourists.

    Faulconbridge

    • It has been said that the World Meteorological Organisation once deemed Faulconbridge, located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Australia, the city with the world's best climate. This claim has yet to be authenticated, but one detail provides strong evidence for the title: 1985 marked the last year snow fell there. A 90-minute drive from Sydney lands you in Faulconbridge. Standing nearly 1500 feet above sea level, Faulconbridge's weather is best described as cool and mild throughout the year.
