The Carnival Spirit offers many dining options, from casual to formal. Guests may choose between sit-down or buffet style for their meals. Room service is available around the clock and is included in the cost of the cruise. Typically, Carnival requires travelers to select a dining time frame when booking a cruise. However, reservations can be changed anytime before the ship leaves and onboard.
The Carnival Spirit offers six kinds of staterooms. The basic one, the cheapest, is the interior stateroom. It has no windows and is typically for two to three passengers. An ocean-view room has a small window. There are two types of balcony rooms. They are slightly bigger than basic and ocean-view rooms and have an attached balcony. Suites and penthouse suites, which are in higher cost brackets, have spacious staterooms and larger balconies.
Children ages 2 to 11 can take advantage of a program called Camp Carnival, which serves as an onboard camp and child-care service. Children are separated into three age groups, toddlers, juniors and intermediates. They are assigned camp counselors who do a variety of age-appropriate activities. The counselors take children to the pools and arts and crafts centers and provide them with meals throughout the day.
Preteens and teenagers have more independent options. Circle "C," for children 12-14, offers an age-appropriate clubhouse and daily and nightly events. Club 02, for children 15-17, looks like an upscale nightclub. Club 02 directors often schedule daily and nightly activities, although many teenagers form friendships within the first day or two on the ship and do many activities on their own.
The Carnival Spirit has a casino, spa, fitness center and nightly theatrical and musical performances. There are several bars, pools and dining options. Nightly child care is available upon request for an additional charge.
