The Hartbeespoort Snake and Animal Park is a private zoo that offers visitors the chance to get up close and personal with its animals. The park is located on the eastern shore of Hartbeespoort Dam. On the weekends, the park's ferry cruises the lake in the vicinity of the Park and the dam. The cruise lasts about a half an hour and drinks and snacks are served on board. Ferry trips for special events and large groups can be arranged by request. During the summer, the park is open from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. During the winter, the hours are from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Magalies Park is a resort offering visitors a range of services including lodging, a number of restaurants, golf and river cruises on Hartbeespoort Dam. Riverboat cruises depart daily aboard the park's ferry, the "Kolgans." Cruises take visitors to interesting and scenic sites along the dams edge. Sunset cruises are also available. The boat can accommodate up to 50 guests. While public cruises depart every day, it is also possible to reserve the Kolgans for a private party or event.
