When Did Japan Leave Korea?

Japan's colonial rule over Korea ended with its World War II defeat. The Potsdam Declaration (August 1945) mandated surrender of Japanese territories. Japan formally renounced all claims to Korea under Article II of the Treaty of San Francisco, which took effect April 28, 1952.
