Japan is an archipelago that lies off the coast of the Asian continent. It consists of four main islands: Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku, as well as thousands of smaller islands. Japan is located in the Pacific Ocean, east of the Sea of Japan, China, North Korea, South Korea, and Russia.
