Paradise in Indonesia may be found in Bali. From the traditional dancers with brightly colored costumes to the intricate batik prints and unique Balinese fabrics, Bali is colorful and rich in culture. Balinese are traditionally Hindu and observe their religion daily by praying at temples and participating in ceremonies. Numerous ornately designed temples are dedicated to various gods, goddesses and ancestors.
  1. Tirtagangga

    • Tirtagangga features gorgeous sculptures in the temples and gardens.

      The cool climate of Tirtagangga and the surrounding mountains with terraced rice patty fields, make it a popular place to visit. Tirtagangga is located 6 kilometers northwest of Amlapura and features a beautiful Water Palace with "impressive terraced garden featuring glorious pools, water channels and fountains," according to "The Rough Guide to: Bali and Lombok," by Lesley Reader and Lucy Ridout.

    Ubud

    • Ubud's many temples display the splendid architecture of Bali.

      Ubud is located in the centeral region of Bali, which has a rich cultural history. The temples with beautiful shrines surrounding the water are plentiful. The Pura Taman Saraswati temple, which is part of the Puri Saraswati complex, is devoted to "Dewi Saraswati, the goddess of learning, literature and the arts," according to Indo.com. Ubud is well known for its rich artistic culture. Ceremonies are performed daily in Bali. Ceremonies may be household ceremonies or village ceremonies which include the whole community in the celebration, according to UbudVibe, a lifestyle and travel guide.

    Kuta

    • Traditional Balinese dancers perform regularly for tourists in the town of Kuta.

      Kuta is said to have the best sunsets in Bali, according to Indo.com. Kuta is in southern Bali and is a nice place for tourists to see the traditional Balinese "Kecak, Legong and Barong dances, Mahabharata and Ramayana ballets, wayang kulit puppets and gamelan orchestras," according to LonelyPlanet, which states that tickets also are sold at many hotels, by street vendors and at the Kuta tourist office.
