      Catch the spirit of the season in Morrisburg’s Upper Canada Village. You’ll be charmed by the fantastic “Alight at Night” holiday light display. Every year, over 250,000 lights completely cover historic 19th century homes and buildings. The lights highlight each building’s loveliness and character.

      Enjoy the sights in Upper Canada Village by strolling the village, or bundle up and go for a horse-drawn carriage ride. Glide around the ice rink to some holiday music in Village Town Square, and stop in the glorious Christ Church, which was built in 1837. Friendly people will invite you to join them in singing some traditional Christmas Carols.

      Get in some holiday shopping. Take in the scenes as each store adds their own kind of holiday magic. Browse through the shops where you’ll find some good bargains on hand-made items and antiques. Also, don’t miss a chance to visit Willard’s Hotel on Queen Street in the village. When it comes to classics, it’s hard to beat this landmark restaurant complete with a costumed staff.

      Glide around the ice rink in Village Town Square, or hop on board the Toy Train for a ride through Crysler Park where you’ll enjoy the dazzling light display.       Take a side trip to the historic town of Merrickville, set just about 20 miles from Morisburg, off the 401. You’ll find a variety of hand-made items to choose from in some fantastic boutiques and shops. On Lawrence Street, there are gourmet food items and home decor, holiday plates, cups and many other unique items.
