Mexico's Highest Mountain: Pico de Orizaba (5,636 m)

Pico de Orizaba (Nahuatl: Citlaltépetl, "Star Mountain") is Mexico's highest peak and the third-highest in North America after Denali (6,190 m) and Mount Logan (5,959 m).

• Elevation: 5,636 meters (18,491 feet) above sea level.
• Location: Border of Veracruz and Puebla states; visible from the Gulf of Mexico coast.
• Type: Dormant stratovolcano; last eruption 1846.
• Glaciers: Jamapa Glacier (largest in Mexico) on north face; retreating rapidly.
• Climbing: Popular high-altitude trek (PD/AD); 2–3 days from Tlachichuca base; requires acclimatization, crampons, ice axe.
