Can liquor be brought into Costa Rica?

Costa Rica's customs regulations allow travelers to bring in up to 3 liters of liquor per person. This can include any type of alcohol, including wine, beer, and spirits. However, there are some restrictions on what types of alcohol can be imported.

Prohibited items include:

- Alcoholic beverages with a concentration of more than 35% alcohol

- Beverages containing prohibited herbs or spices

- Alcoholic beverages produced in countries with which Costa Rica does not have diplomatic relations

Travelers who bring in more than the allowed amount of alcohol may be subject to fines or have their alcohol confiscated by customs officials.
