Crystal Springs is a census-designated area in Pasco County, Florida, with a population of 1,554 as of July 2007 and a total area of 5.6 square miles. Americantowns.com says the average listing price in 2010 for homes in Crystal Springs is $110,000, barely more than half the Pasco County average of $200,716. Crystal Springs has a small park and a home theater which locals frequent, but the big attractions in this area are in the nearby cities.

    • Located 14.4 miles and 19 minutes from Crystal Springs, Dinosaur World boasts more than 150 life-sized dinosaurs displayed outdoors. Some of these include the tyrannosaurus rex, stygimoloch, tricerotops, spinosaurus, dilophosaurus, chasinosaurus and brachiosaurus. Other attractions include caves, skeleton gardens, a fossil dig, bone yard, museum, playground, gift shop and picnic area. Guests are encouraged to bring their own picnic boxes, even as pizzas can be ordered for delivery. Dinosaur World is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This attraction is a semi-private golf club north of Tampa, eight miles and 16 minutes from Crystal Springs. It is a beautifully landscaped 18-hole course with towering pines, rolling fairways, two practice putting and chipping greens and challenging golf. Strict regulations are enforced on reservations and cancellations, courteousness on the golf course, dress codes and the use of soft spikes. A fully-stocked Pro Shop is available at the clubhouse.

    • Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay is about 30 minutes from Crystal Springs. It simulates an African safari in a sun-soaked Florida vacation. Guests experience up-close encounters with wild animals such as tigers and orangutans in the jungles of Jungala and a three-story play area of ropes, mazes and crawl tubes. Thrilling roller-coaster rides include Skeikra, a dive from 200 feet up and 90 degrees straight down, and the Gwazi, with six fly-bys and cruising speeds of 100 miles an hour.
