Christian Drug & Rehab Programs in Arkansas

Christian substance abuse rehab programs offer participants a treatment program based on the Bible's teachings. As well as the physical aspect of drug or alcohol addiction, these programs focus on spiritual well being and life goals. Physical activity and responsibility, along with individual and group therapy, are frequent features of the Christian treatment centers.
  1. Teen Challenge of Arkansas

    • Run by volunteers and funded by church and individual donations, Teen Challenge of Arkansas operates residential programs for men aged 18 and above. The program takes a minimum of 14 months to finish. The first four months are set just outside Hot Springs, and for the remaining 10 months, participants stay in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The program is based on Bible teachings and run by accredited ministers who focus on spiritual and mental well being, emotional stability and health, physical work and responsibility and supporting the participant in a peer-friendly environment. Admission is voluntary and individuals may leave at any time.

    Capstone Treatment Center

    • Capstone Treatment Center treats boys and young men aged 14 to 24 who have substance abuse problems. The residential treatment is based on Christian values, and lasts on average 3 to 3 1/2 months. Rehab includes family therapy of about 60 hours over the course of the program, and individuals receive four hours of personal therapy a week. The ratio of therapists to patients is one to two. Aids to recovery in Capstone include an hour a day with an individual puppy, 15 hours a week group therapy, three physical workouts a week and Adventure and Outdoor therapy. Capstone also offers aftercare, including three months of weekly sessions with a therapist and one year's drug testing. The program costs from $37,500 for three months, as of 2010.

    Black Community Developers Hoover Treatment Center

    • Black Community Developers was set up in 1967 in Little Rock to combat the effects of poverty on disadvantaged youth and families. Their Hoover Treatment Center offers residential and outpatient treatment for people who suffer from substance abuse issues. Operating on a faith-based program, the Hoover Center treats about 1,000 people each year, under 24-hour care, some of whom have been ordered there by the courts after conviction of an offense. Clients also receive job and life skills training and 70 percent are employed upon leaving the program.
