Only people who are over the age of 18 and have a valid driver's license can sign a golf rental agreement and rent a cart.. However, people who are at least 16 and have a valid driver's license can drive a golf cart.
Guests visiting Ocean Lakes that own their own golf carts must register their cart with the Ocean Lakes Golf Cars Sales and Service office. The owners of the cart must prove the golf cart carries a minimum of $50,000 liability coverage. Then, the owners must affix a registration sticker to the front of the golf cart on the driver's side. Ocean Lakes only allows electric-powered golf carts at the campground.
If a person from another campsite visits Ocean Lakes and has a golf cart, they must check-in with the Main Office and let the staff know about their cart. The visitor also must pay a fee for a day visit. The fee varies with the seasons and national holidays.
The Ocean Lakes Family Campground is not responsible for any injuries or damages caused to personal property by a golf cart. The golf cart operator is solely responsible for these damages.
Golf cart drivers must drive the vehicle only on roadways. The maximum load is five passengers at a time. Drivers cannot take the cart on the beach, through the campsites or in restricted areas. Ocean Lakes does not allow golf cart operators to drive recklessly or to race the carts. Drivers must turn the golf cart lights on after sunset while the cart is in use.Those with annual campsite leases must display their campsite number on the golf cart.
Golf cart users can drive the cart only during Ocean Lakes' non-quiet hours, which are between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.
If a person uses his own golf cart at Ocean Lakes and violates a rule, he will receive a $50 fine for the first offense. When there is a second offense, the owner of the golf cart must park it with their trailer or in the cart storage area. Renters of golf carts will immediately lose their rental privileges after their first violation.
