What Towns Surround Bolton Landing, New York?

Bolton Landing is a gorgeous travel destination on the shores of Lake George. The lake is the gateway to the Adirondacks and the towns that surround the lake and Bolton Landing are idyllic mountain hideaways full of romance, adventure and relaxation. The town itself is known for the lovely hotel, The Sagamore, but spending a few days peeking around the nearby towns is a pleasure in and of itself.
  1. Lake George

    • Lake George the town is named after the lake. The town is in the foothills of the Adirondacks and is well known, just like Bolton Landing, for its lake access. Fishing for perch, sunnies and lake bass is a classic activity from any of the docks that dot the lake from the town. The restaurants are a fun combination of elegant and woodsy.

    Lake George Village

    • Lake George Village is a quaint hamlet with a distinct feel to it. The quietly appointed town center has plenty of antique shops, boutique stores and local souvenirs nestled into welcoming buildings. Lake George Village is also a festival town with plenty of scheduled activities to draw visitors from throughout the region. Stop over from Bolton Landing for Friday night concerts, an Elvis festival or the antique car show.

    Glens Falls

    • Glens Falls is a perfect lunch stop on a drive around the Bolton Landing area. The nearby "city," as its called by those in the villages, is about as close to Hometown, USA as you can get. Here families roost, while commuters take the local Amtrak out to work and kids play sports at one of two large parks. The town hosts a blues festival in the summer, too.

    Stony Creek

    • Stony Creek is about as out of the way as you can get while still being in a village near Bolton Landing. The tiny town is entirely within Adirondack Park and has lakes, mountain streams and trails, and plenty of long, country roads to drive down. Stony Creek is also a fun place to go snowmobiling in winter. Snow accumulates over 12 inches by January and the town offers groomed and ungroomed trails.
