It is important to note that August through October is hurricane season. Though it is not hit as often as islands in the Caribbean, Hurricane Fabian struck in 2003 and did some damage. From November to March, the average high is 70. Though it will be too cold to swim, it is a good time for activities on land, and there will be fewer tourists.
You can get a direct flight to Bermuda from many cities in the eastern United States and from London. Shop around for tickets online, since prices can be expensive. Fares will be cheaper during periods when fewer people go to the island. Be forewarned, prices from the U.S. can fluctuate wildly from day to day, so if you find a good one, it is advisable to buy it. Another popular way to get to Bermuda is by boat. Many cruises stop there, and since the island is less than 700 nautical miles from the eastern U.S., many people travel there on their own private boats.
Many people rent scooters on Bermuda since because don't need a driver's license to operate one. You must be at least 16 years old to drive one, however. It is important to be cautious when you are on the road because many scooter drivers are inexperienced. Like other British colonies, people drive on the left side of the road. Bermuda also has an effective and extensive bus system that can take you to most of the popular destinations.
