Bunker Hill Monument, in nearby Charlestown, is the site of the first major battle of the Revolutionary war. Visitors must climb 294 steps to reach the top for a view of the Boston skyline. The USS Constitution is located in Boston Harbor and is the oldest commissioned warship still afloat.

Catch a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park or go ice skating at one of the rinks located around town, such as the Boston Common Frog Pond, the rink at Charles Hotel or the Kendall Square Community Skating Rink.

Looking for more water adventure, take a Duck Tour in a World War II-style amphibious landing vehicle. Visit Cambridge for the Harvard Museum of Natural History. There the kids can see dinosaurs, meteorites and three whale skeletons.
