Baby Activities in Boston

If you've recently had a baby, chances are you don't want to sit around at home all the time. Getting out and exposing your baby to different activities at an early age can help him to grow into a healthy, well-developed child. The city of Boston is rich in activities and culture for all ages, including babies. There are a number of activities targeted specifically at infants and their parents.
  1. Class at Isis Maternity

    • Take a class at Isis Maternity, an area leader in resources for expectant and new parents. Mom and Baby Yoga is offered for infants who are not yet crawling and provides a relaxing opportunity to bond with your little one while still getting exercise. Several playgroups for babies are offered as well, including a drop-in one where no pre-registration is required. Caterpillar classes are for babies just learning to play on the floor. Singing, infant sign and introduction to toys to enhance fine and gross motor skills are covered. Other class titles offered by Isis Maternity include Jelly Jam Babies, Water Babies, Infant Signing and Time for Dads.

    Stroll Through Boston Common

    • For an unstructured day with your baby, take a walk at Boston Common and Public Garden. The trails and paths here are very wide and stroller-friendly. If your baby can sit already and you don't mind getting a bit wet, make a stop at the Frog Pond, a shallow spray pool for children. Chances are she'll enjoy splashing and playing in the sun. For an adorable photo opportunity, be sure to stop by the Make Way for Ducklings Statue, inspired by the famous children's book. Make your way over to the swan boat dock to take a 15-minute relaxing cruise through the Public Garden Lagoon. Babies under two ride for free.
