The Maritime Aquarium is a place where children can learn interesting facts about animals that live under the water, including sea stars, sand tiger sharks and river otters. Children will love exhibits such as the Open Ocean Exhibit, the Marine Lab Exhibit, the Harbor Seal Pool and the River Otter Habitat. The Aquarium features a gift shop that offers souvenirs such as books, T-shirts, educational toys, stuffed animals, music, artwork and jewelry. Group visits can be scheduled online in advance.

Lake Compounce Amusement Park is the perfect place for children with its many rides and attractions. The park features rides for children such as the Caterpillar Train, the Flying Elephants, the Jolly Jesters, Kiddie Bumper Cars, a Kiddie Coaster, a Kiddie Swinger, Little Dare Devils and the Drop Zone. Children under 3 years old are admitted free into the amusement park. Senior citizens are offered a discount. The park is open on weekdays from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and weekends from 11 a.m. until 9 or 10 p.m.
