How to Hike to Stewart Falls, Utah

Stewart Falls is located in the Alpine Loop of the Wasatch Front in Utah. The waterfall is two tiered fall that is over 200 feet tall. Stewart Falls can be reached by starting at Sundance Resort or at Aspen Grove. The trails leading to the falls are well groomed and marked. The hike is not difficult and is possible for children with a little help.

Instructions

    • 1

      Drive to Sundance Resort. Park in the Resort Parking Lot. Ride Ray's Lift to the trail head.

      Drive to Aspen Grove by way of the Alpine Loop. Park in the parking lot at Aspen Grove. Pay a small entrance fee per vehicle that enters the park.

      Take the Sundance route for a shorter hike. Follow the route at Aspen Grove for a longer, more difficult route. Either route is suitable for children and beginning hikers.

      Follow the marked trail the entire way. Follow all of the route markers to Stewart Falls when there is a split in the trail. Stay on the marked trails.

      Take time at the falls to hike along the stream bed and climb on the rocks. Take caution on the rocks as some may be slippery. Hike to the base of the falls.

      Rest in the meadows or on a large boulder. Enjoy a well deserved snack and a drink of water before making the return hike.
