Founded as a mining town in the 1850s, the city of Black Hawk, Colorado is now a gambler's paradise. After gambling was legalized in 1991, entrepreneurs converted many of the town's historic buildings into casinos while others built new establishments which transformed the town. The abundance of adult gaming in the city, however, means the many establishments enforce a strict minimum age of 21, so Black Hawk isn't exactly the place to visit with your children.
